Contract Glossary
Deliverables
Definition
Deliverables are the specific things you're supposed to produce or hand over under a contract. Not 'help with the website' — more like '10-page responsive website with contact form, blog section, and admin dashboard, delivered as production-ready code by April 15.'
In Practice
Vague deliverables are the number-one source of freelance disputes. 'Logo design' means something different to everyone. Your client expects 15 concepts with unlimited revisions. You planned to deliver 3 concepts with 2 rounds of revisions. Define deliverables down to the number of concepts, revision rounds, file formats (AI, SVG, PNG), and what 'final delivery' looks like. The more specific, the fewer arguments.

Frequently asked questions about deliverables
As specific as possible without being absurd. Include quantities, dimensions, file formats, quality standards, and acceptance criteria. 'Website' is too vague. '10-page Next.js website with responsive design, SEO meta tags, and PageSpeed score above 90' is right. If you can argue about whether a deliverable was met, it's not specific enough.
